I always go to the Mercedes-Benz dealership for regular maintenance of my car.  I was surprised to hear from d service manager that due to the old age of my 1997 E420, it’s best for me to just have a replacement engine, instead of repairing a blown cylinder head gasket on its M119 V8.  I could not afford their cost estimate so I called around Temecula area for shops that work on European cars.  Luckily, I found TechStar on Diaz St. Talking to  the brothers- AR & Major, of TechStar European Car Masters, they were upront, honest and very professional to just evaluate my car and give me their assessment afterwards. They video the inside of the engine and it showed cause of the gasket leak with misfire on cyl#4… AR said that they’ve worked with MBZ engines with similar problems before and will quote me with OEM parts and labor, so I can decide. It was GOD’s blessing that I found TechStar- w/c guaranteed to have my E420 running like new as it should be at 79,897 miles, but without replacing its original engine!? To those who need their European cars repaired or worked on, consider first calling TechStar; I am totally satisfied and forever will be a testimonial everywhere I meet fellow European car enthusiasts. I took my Volvo in for repairs after confirming they could fix the issue. They did it after advising me if the price. It would be interesting to know the hourly shop rate they are charging, not just a total price.
